Sliced or chopped, this marinated tofu is delicious with noodles and a sweet vegetable like sweet potato.
Cut the block of tofu into 8 even slices. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a large pan and add the tofu slices. They will sink and return to the top of the water when ready. Remove from the water and blot dry with kitchen paper.
Mix the tamari, ginger and mirin and lemon juice in a bowl and coat the tofu in the marinade. Set aside on a flat plate ready to cook.
Brush each piece with a little olive oil and cook in a non stick pan until golden on each side.
Serve over noodles with a spoon of the marinade and some finely chopped shallot.
