These are an excellent healthy alternative to wafer biscuits of biscotti, often served with ice-cream. If you're making them in advance store them in an airtight container free of any moisture.
Preheat the oven to 140 or 120 degrees Celsius fan forced.
Wash and dry the apples. Leaving the skin on, remove the core and slice the apples thinly into rings.
Lay the apple rings on a baking sheet. Place in the oven to cook for 60 minutes turning them over once.
Note: The Gala apple was developed in New Zealand specifically for kids. It is pale pink with a mild sweet flavour and a visually appealing crisp and juicy flesh.
