Gram for gram there is the same amount of vitamin C in nori as there is in a lemon, and while you'd have to eat an awful lot of nori to make up a lemon's load of vitamin C, it may not seem such a challenge when you try this tasty snack. Bring these out at the next drinks party you host - they're easy to make and a whole lot healthier than potato chips.
Pre heat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius.
Using a pestle and mortar, grind the sesame and sea salt to a coarse powder.
Using a pastry brush, dip the brush in the sesame oil and brush the nori sheets with sesame oil, covering the whole sheet with the oil. Place the oiled sheets on baking trays, without overlapping the sheets onto each other. Place in the oven to toast for 5 - 7 minutes.
Remove from the oven and while hot sprinkle with the sesame salt.
Cut into squares and store in an airtight container.
Note: Nori is known as the treasure house of the sea. It contains EPA, a non essential superunsaturated fatty acid, said to be effective in preventing hardening of the arteries, as well as taurine, an amino acid effective in reducing blood pressure, minerals and chlorophyll.
