A green drink can be off putting, particularly to those who've been down the wheat grass trail. There's an expectation it will taste awful despite being good for you. In this drink, combining almond milk and pear juice with the bitter greens produces a very palatable, soft, sweet drink that not only boosts energy but tastes surprising great. Unlike fruit juices where we discourage using too many fruits, there's no limit to the quantity of greens you can use here - the more the better.
Wash and dry the greens.
Juice the kale or spinach, parsley and pear. Stir through the almond milk and serve immediately.
Note: Almond milk or drink is available from health food stores. It's has a sweet taste and is suitable for people suffering from lactose intolerance. Commercial brands contain maltodextrin a digestible carbohydrate made from cornstarch. It is used for energy and easily assimilated by body. Maltodextrin has a high GI and is not recommended for people with diabetes or those trying to lose weight.
