Purple Rice
Purple rice is a traditional rice originating from Thailand, where it is used by local communities for feasts and celebrations. This unique purple grain is glutinous when cooked with a fragrant, delicate taste, and is also highly nutritious.
Over the last few decades production of purple rice was slowly abandoned in favour of white rice, however, Fair Trade products have initiated development projects in Thailand to rediscover this forgotten grain.
